By knowing what to expect, you can plan accordingly, address any potential issues before they arise, and make sure that the process goes as smoothly as possible.
In this article, we will walk you through our comprehensive installation process, from scheduling the appointment to integrating your blinds with smart home systems.
Upon receipt of your products, our Installation Manager, Scott, will contact you to schedule your installation.
We typically run one to two weeks out for scheduling appointments from receipt of products. This timeframe can vary if the product is high off the ground or too wide for one installer to handle, requiring two installers.
We ask that you remove all furniture from beneath your windows where your window treatments are to be installed.
In addition, please remove all nicknacks and relocate any high-value items to another area. Hide-a-beds and pianos are especially important to be moved, as we need space for ladders or personnel to complete the installation.
Depending on the type of treatment, we can usually install 4 to 8 treatments in an hour. This includes time to bring the product into the home, remove the shipping packaging, install the treatment, remove any trash, and sweep or vacuum the area where the installation took place.
If the product is motorized, it will require additional time for installation.
For simple remote and shade operation, this can take as little as ten minutes per treatment. For app-based programming, it may take around twenty minutes per treatment.
We will need your input on how you would like the program set up to operate your window treatments.
Please ensure that the app is downloaded to your phone or tablet, an account is set up with the app supplier, and we have access to your WiFi SSID and password. These steps are necessary to achieve the desired level of control.
We can provide guidance on how to interface with Amazon Alexa, Apple Home Kits, Google Assistant, and other smart home systems. However, these integrations are not supported by our manufacturers, so we only offer advice and do not program these interfaces ourselves.
Many window treatment app systems can integrate with home automation systems like Crestron, Control4, Brillant, Claire, RTA, Elon, Josh, URC, and Savant. Please ensure compatibility with your home automation provider, as our suppliers do not offer support for these integrations.
If we are hard wiring the system to a power supply, we will need additional time to mount the power supply and make the connections. We do not pull wires, but we will attach the connectors and the manufacturer’s power supplies, handling only low voltage connections.
All 115 VAC must be done by a licensed electrician. Please contact us for advice and requirements for hard-wired systems. The time to start this process is prior to the drywall being hung while the wall cavity space is still available.

Upon completion of the installation, any outstanding balance will be collected. If you are not going to be home at the end of the installation or if a support person is in charge, please arrange to make payment for us to collect.
